![]() ![]() In this version, I love it when Zhao Min says the government is trying their best to discipline their soldiers who act cruel and barbaric to the commoners. The Mongolians has always been portrayed the ultimate evil in every adaptation. The lines and scenes are very detailed and realistic everytime they are facing danger and crisis.Īnother part I love is how, not only this version tries to neutralize Ming Cult as a misunderstood evil cult (while in fact they are good people with some misled, misbehavior members), this version have also neutralized the act of the Mongolians who conquered China. ![]() None of the previous adaptation managed to make me feel this way. I can really relate with the characters’ near death experience inside the temple. The Wan’an Temple fire was the best in this version. I really buy them as a couple and rooting for them together. ![]() They followed every little detail in the book.įirst time I am loving Yin Liting and Yang Buhui’s love story. The book actually mentioned this a few times, but some adaptations would just make the Ming sect purely an evil sect.Įpisode 15-23 “The Bright Peak Battle” arc which ends with Zhang Wuji becoming the Leader of Ming Cult, is the BEST adaptation in this version. I also like that this version emphasized that Ming sect is just misunderstood as the evil sect, and that there are actually good people in the sect. I also love how they bonded through the mute little girl, and also there were scenes that made Xiaofu understand him more and admire him, so their love story makes more sense than the book. I really love Xiaofu in this version too. Yang Xiao is such a charming, handsome and cool man in this version. Yang Xiao and Ji Xiaofu’s love story, I never cared much about this couple, in the book nor in the adaptations, but this version made me care so much about them and broke my heart so much too. ![]() I love how in this version they showed flashback of the happy couple with illustrated moment. Their last scene never fails to make me cry in every version. It continues to keep me at the edge of my seat wanting to know more what’s gonna happen next.Īt first I thought Zhang Cuishan and Yin Susu (the leading hero’s parents) has not enough chemistry, but after watching their super heartbreaking ending, I think they are good enough to get the point across. Another thing I love is the perfect pacing and there is never a boring moment for me even though I already know the story. Because then we’ll realize just how amazing the grownup leading hero is, him being able to lead them or defeat them later on. The introduction of these supporting characters is very important. And this version really respect every important supporting character giving them a grand entrance and makes audience goes “Ooh! Who is he/she?” But even if they are just supporting characters, they are all charming, interesting and unique characters, one of the reasons why I love the book. Also the tragic love story of the hero’s parents. So, in the beginning, it’s pretty much introductions of supporting characters. The leading hero of the story is not born until Episode 4. But this 2019 version is really taking time to introduce the story and characters very neatly that I think this version is really good to watch for audience who has never read the book. This novel is a legendary classic in China and most of the adaptations skipped introduction elements assuming the whole audience know the story already. What I love the most from this version is the script writing. “HSDS2019” starring Joseph Zeng, Chen Yuqi, Bambi Zhu, Lin Yushen, premiered on Tencent Video, February 27, 2019. “Heavenly Sword and Dragon Slaying Sabre” (HSDS2019) is a 50-episode web drama and an adaptation of a classic novel of the same name by legendary wuxia novelist, Jin Yong. ![]()
